The Châtel Concept
Attractive, comfortable chalets
Châtel Reizen, a Dutch travel organisation, has been organising winter sports holidays since 1985 based on a pleasant formula, which seems to attract an ever growing group of winter sport enthusiasts. By combining the good aspects of a stay at a hotel with the benefits of an apartment/chalet, your winter sports holiday can be even more pleasant and remain affordable at the same time. The first basic principle is a large, attractive chalet - immediately on or within walking distance of the ski slope - in a good ski resort with guaranteed snow.
Half board accommodation
The Châtel concept combines the benefits of the ‘individual' chalet with full service based on half board. All arrangements are based on 7 x bed and breakfast and 6 x dinner/coffee/tea. For most chalets, the three-course dinner (set menu or à la carte) is enjoyed out. The chalet staff arrange fine dinners for three chalets: Großarl, Sölden (Haus Innerwald) and Les Coches.
Chalet staff
One or two carefully selected Dutch (English speaking) Châtel hosts are present in the chalets. Apart from quietly looking after the chalet household and arranging a sumptuous breakfast, afternoon tea and coffee after dinner, they are also your host and source of information. They can arrange for a discount on ski passes or ski hire if so required, organise activities such as Berghütte meals or toboggan evenings and can also act as a babysitter or guide (in consultation). And ... you don't have to go looking for him/her, because the host also lives in the chalet. Once a week, the Chalet staff has the day off following breakfast. On this day no dinner can be enjoyed in the regular restaurant or the chalet.
Booking a chalet
If you have decided to go on winter sport as a group, Châtel of course has the possibility of booking an entire chalet. So, if you have plans for a family reunion in the snow, going out with the club team or wish to conclude an exam period together: Châtel can offer an excellent alternative and can tell you which chalet/ski resort meets the specific requirements of your group best; Are there children in the group for instance, or non-skiers and/or top skiers and/or langlaufers, is it a noisy group, après-ski etc. These are all factors which can be taken into account in order to make your holiday a success.
Booking individual rooms
If you wish to book just one or a few rooms, you can of course do so in a number of suitable chalets. In that case you will share the chalet with other international Châtel guests who have also made individual bookings. You will enjoy the breakfast buffet and three-course dinner together, so it's easy to strike up a friendship with fellow skiers. Please ask us about the possibilities.
Children
Because of the entire setup - its flexibility - the Châtel formula is also perfect for holidays with children. Additionally, a number of special parent/child weeks have been scheduled for January. During this week, a babysitter/chaperone is on hand
(for five half days). Parents who are interested can request the special information letter from Châtel.
